I had a pretty decent stay at Betel Box Backpackers Hostel. The location in the Joo Chiat area was awesome for grabbing food and exploring local spots, plus the staff were super friendly and helpful. However, the cleanliness definitely needed attention, and it could get pretty hot in the dorms if you didn't have access to AC. Overall, it was affordable and a solid choice for a short stay.
